The KAMO Puffer Jacket was created in honor of Maximiliana La‘akea Aurelius Kini (Max) — the heart and inspiration behind Ali‘i Ana. At just two and a half years old, Max co-founded Hale Kapu Mo‘olelo a Ali‘i Ana with her father, Etienne Aurelius Kini, helping to protect and celebrate the royal Hawaiian lineage through art and design.
Today, Max continues her fight for life — after surviving two heart attacks and a near-suffocation incident that left her on life support for over 17 days. This jacket carries her mana, her courage, and her story.
The KAMO pattern (short for camouflage) was designed by Etienne as Max sat on his lap watching a light show in Waikīkī. The pattern weaves together the shapes of the Hawaiian Islands, forming a tapestry of protection — a living symbol of Hawai‘i shielding Max through prayer, strength, and aloha.
This puffer jacket embodies that same warmth and resilience. Built with insulated, water-resistant shell fabric and quilted detailing, it offers comfort and endurance through any storm. On the inside, Max’s story is printed in full, so that everyone who wears it carries a piece of her light and legacy — a reminder of what we fight for, and why we never give up.
