The first release in the Waikīkī Monarch Project apparel collection begins where our walls will begin — with Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole Piʻikoi. Known as Ke Aliʻi Makaʻāinana — the Prince of the People — Kūhiō stood unshaken after the fall of the Hawaiian Kingdom. As Hawaiʻi’s delegate to Congress, he fought for his people and secured the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, ensuring land for Native Hawaiians would endure.
This tee is more than clothing. It is the first step in a living series: each monarch’s release will coincide with their rise onto the walls of Honolulu, street by street, name by name. As each monumental canvas is installed along their designated road, a new tee will drop — carrying the face, mana, and story of that aliʻi into the world.
